Flor M. De Hoyos-Ayala, MSW
“I owe my success to all my teachers and everyone who helped me along the way. I wasn't sure if I was able to follow through until the end due to my age and my background. With my training at CREC, I was able to get decent overall scores and I did not have to take any ESOL classes at the college...I hope CREC will continue to be successful at helping students learn English and the skills needed to earn a good living.”

About English Language Acquisition for Adults
English Language Learner (Basic and Intermediate)
CREC's Transition to Employment Services provides classes in English for speakers of other languages. Instruction is individualized to achieve progress and to maximize ability in reading, writing, listening, and oral communication skills. Intermediate-level students participate in a volunteer internship to practice their English skills in a professional work environment.
English Language Learner (Advanced)
This is the most advanced level of English for speakers of other languages offered by CREC's Transition to Employment Services. For a nominal class fee, students participate in a small class setting where instructors take a customized approach to build on students' current knowledge. The goal is to improve reading, writing, listening, and oral communication skills, and the class is designed to encourage conversation and prepare those looking to transition into college.
