The Blueprint is a training curriculum that addresses the planning and implementation of programs and services for students with disabilities and/or who are English Language Learners.

Building Powerful IEPs to Increase Student Achievement

This popular certification program provides professional developers with materials to train staff in constructing Standards-Based Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for maximum student educational benefit. The focus is on linking well developed IEPs to the Common Core State Standards, data, specially designed instruction, and related services.

CREC offers twelve hours of curriculum in four modules:

  • Module 1: Defining Present Levels of Academic Achievement.
  • Module 2: Writing Standards Based IEPs.
  • Module 3: Creating Instruction from the Common Core State Standards for Special Education and Related Services.
  • Module 4: Collecting Data and Monitoring the IEP Progress.

Target Audience: Administrators, general and special education teachers, and related staff personnel.

Certification Requirements: Two days of certification training, and a Video of a successful Blueprint presentation.

Benefits of Certification: Participants will receive materials for presenting Modules 1-4 (over 15 hours of training), including PowerPoint, handouts, guidelines, online resources, and presentation tips. Membership to the Blueprint Consortium also includes updates to materials, current resources, and online assistance.
