“CCY provided an experience for Jessica that guided her in finding resources in herself that she never knew existed. What makes CCY so special is the combination of caring with firmness, discipline, respect, and an expectance of and belief that students will be at their highest level of functioning in all areas - academic, artistic, interpersonal and self-discipline. CCY has been a transforming experience for Jessica.”

Residential Advisor (RA) Employment
Residential Advisors live on campus in the residence halls for the duration of the program and are responsible for supervising students. RA's also serve as Teaching Assistants to the CCY instructors. This is a round-the-clock position, with limited free time.
95% of Residential Advisors have attended the Center for Creative Youth as a student, and have typically completed two years of college. Having attended the program as a student is an important factor, as it will provide a full understanding of the day-to-day activities, schedule, commitment, and philosophy of the Center for Creative Youth. Applicants who fit the above-mentioned criteria should check for the position posting on CREC’s Job Opportunities website.
Once the online application is received, you will be contacted regarding an interview with the Residential Director and/or Director.
While previous attendance at CCY is a plus for prospective RA's, occasionally a Residential Advisor applicant who did not attend the program as a student will be considered and hired. This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Under these circumstances, the applicant would most definitely need to have a background in the arts and in teaching, and would need to provide a letter of interest, resume, and two references in addition to downloading, completing, and submitting the RA application. Experience in a residential setting preferred. You will then be contacted by the office staff to schedule an interview if a position is available.
Instructors are responsible for teaching classes, do not live on campus, and work one to five days per week, depending on the position. CCY has an Artist/Instructor Faculty of approximately 35, and many of these talented people return year after year. While openings are limited, each year we typically welcome a few new devoted professionals, usually as Guest Artists.
If you are interested in being a Guest Artist, please submit a letter of interest and resume, indicating your experiences both as an artist and teacher (high school or college-level teaching experience necessary) to firstname.lastname@example.org. If a Faculty position becomes available it will be posted on CREC’s Job Opportunities website.
