Oakland, California
  DeTocquville's Ghost: Examining the Struggle for Democracy in America - well developed site including lectures, lesson studies, resources and a timeline of primary source documents. Provides information on the lesson study method. Includes links to public domain images.
Baltimore County, Maryland
  Teaching American History in Maryland The highlight of the program will be three annual Summer Institutes at the UMBC Center for History Education.
Bozeman, Montana
  The Bozeman Teaching American History Program - well developed set of links, "sites of interest to historians".
Freemont, Nebraska
  Westward Waters - Includes criteria for lesson plans.
Fairport, New York
  American History as Dialog - BOCES and University of Rochester project focusing on dialogue, inquiry and reflection. Good materials on 2004 Summer Institute. Links to sites that support historical inquiry.
Binghamton, New York
  The Center for the Teaching of American History, Binghamton University, State University of New York, has received two TAH grants to deliver a range of professional development activities to secondary school teachers and librarians in upstate New York.
New York City
  Teaching American History: NYC Department of Education, Community School District 8, the New York Historical Society and The Lower East Side Tenement Museum project includes a focus on literacy for low performing students.

West Morris, New Jersey
  Faces of Freedom Teaching American History Through Personal Narrative - teacher lessons available through Learning Village
  Weaving the Fabric of American History - Collaboration of school districts and historic sites. Website not yet fully developed.
Ashland, Ohio
  Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs collaboration with the Mansfield and Lorain City School Districts
Dayton, Ohio
  Dayton - Teaching American History - well developed project including Teaching Fellows Summer Institutes, a strong year-round program, a History and New Media Distance Learning Course, support for National Teacher Board Certification, graduate scholarships and a variety of special events.
Lane County, Oregon
  Teaching American History A Lane County Grant Project - iincludes teacher created lesson plans.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  Teaching American History Grant Project - well developed website with emphasis on their projects - The New Democracy (1850-1900) Politics/Civil Conflicts (1850-1900) and Politics/Civil Conflicts
Providence, Rhode Island
  Critical Turning Points in the History of American Foreign Policy - this Watson Institute for International Studies (Brown University) initiative engages students in consideration of the ambiguities of history and lessons for the future. The project focuses on twelve of the most significant turning points in our nation’s relationship to the world around us.

  Northeastern Wisconsin - Teaching American History Program - includes Teacher Toolbox (Lecture Materials, Lesson Plan Creation, Useful Resources)
