Many adult education students seek high school credentials to further their education and broaden employment options. Connecticut offers three roads to a credential. Many students choose to continue their education by earning credits in an Adult High School Credit Diploma Program (AHSCD). Others prefer the " GED " or High School Equivalency Test option. If they can pass the test, they earn a state High School Equivalency Diploma .Still others try to put their real life experiences and learning into a guided process called the External Diploma Program (EDP) . If these adults can demonstrate mastery of 65 life skills and competencies, they can earn a high school diploma.
