The goal of ATDN's professional development in reading is to provide classroom teachers and tutors with the training and materials they need in order to recognize reading problems among their students and to help them become better readers. This is accomplished through workshops, a Reading Resource Manual and Internet/website resources, and technical assistance. The Reading and Language Arts Task Force advises ATDN on the content and direction of its professional development on teaching reading and language skills to adults.
 
 

Reading Resource Manual: Improving Adult Reading Skills
This Manual is a compilation of assessments, articles, strategies, and "tried and true" tips and techniques. This Manual was disseminated to each Adult Education Program in the Fall of 2001 through Program Facilitators and/or Directors.
