The Reading and Language Arts Task Force developed the Improving Adult Reading Skills Manual with funding from the Bureau of Career and Adult Education through ATDN. Besides articles on assessment, instruction, ESL, and professional development, the Manual includes great tips and strategies for teachers and tutors working with all levels of adult readers. Free copies have been distributed by ATDN to each program that receives funding from the Bureau of Career and Adult Education. A list identifying the individual to contact at each program follows. The work of ensuring that all adult readers receive the level of instruction and support they need to achieve their learning goals is shared by many. The Reading and Language Arts Task Force intends to help promote and make available the resources teachers, tutors, and programs need to serve the state's adult readers.
