The Reading and Language Arts Task Force is a standing advisory committee of the Bureau of Health/Nutrition, Family Services and Adult Education, Connecticut State Department of Education. Established in 1999, its purpose is to advise the Bureau on the methods and models for teaching evidence-based reading instructional (EBRI) practices and strategies across all content areas in adult education classrooms in Connecticut.
Mission Statement: The Reading & Language Arts Task Force’s mission is to identify EBRI practices and strategies and to examine and disseminate, information and resources that will be valuable to adult literacy providers, through training and/or access to training, and to collaborate with others associated with adult learners who may be experiencing reading difficulties.
