Workforce Education

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 promotes learning that helps adults obtain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed on the job, pursue career advancement, and adapt to continuous change in the workplace.  Adult Education plays a vital role in serving the needs of adult learners in the workplace.  This web page provides information about training, access to technical support, and links to resources.  The attached links will assist Adult Education directors, workplace coordinators, and teachers.

The three-day Connecticut Workforce Education Model training is offered annually and by request.  Customized workplace training is available to meet your program’s needs.

The workplace provider user group, Adult Ed at Work, provides a forum for the exchange of issues, ideas and best practices.  The group welcomes all adult education programs offering workforce education.
