Family Development
Promoting the literacy of both parents and children as a learning team.
 

Our Family Development programs use a proactive approach to engage families in the academic and social development of their children. Programming is aimed at training educators on strategies to enhance family involvement in ways that support children.

Trainings

Participants will be certified to conduct Parent Reading Clubs during which parents learn the importance of reading to their children, the skills to make read-aloud sessions enjoyable, and how literacy development can be promoted in the home.

Raising Readers Parent Club Facilitator Training:
September 21 and 22, 2009; December 7 and 8, 2009; February 22 and 23, 2010; May 3 and 4, 2010 – 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at CREC Coltsville.
