Investing in our future is easy and fun! Our young people need great role models like you to introduce them to the business world. Consider becoming a mentor for one of our career readiness programs or getting involved in our after school programs. The possibilities are endless. Here are just a few ways you can get involved:
- Become a Career Mentor. Our students participate in paid internships at area businesses. If you and your company have the desire to give back and the capacity to host a young person in your office to work on small projects under your supervision, you are the person we are looking for! The level of time commitment varies depending on the program, the time of year and the student. Please contact us to see if you would be a good match to become a career mentor!
- Host a tour. We at CREC are constantly looking to expose our students to interesting and varied career opportunities in their area. Tour groups usually are between 10 and 15 students at a time. CREC has the capacity to provide adequate supervision and transportation to your site. Most tours are scheduled in the after school hours (after 4pm). Students benefit from learning about different career opportunities, speaking to human resource staff to learn about the hiring process, and hearing the stories of successful professionals at your agency!
- Share your story. Do you have an inspirational story related to your career success? Do you love your work and want to motivate young people to find what they love? We urge you to come and speak on site and share your story.
- Share your talent. Come in and volunteer at one of our programs. Students participate in a variety of enrichment opportunities throughout their time with us. Programs are staffed with certified teachers who can assist in facilitating a project. Students have participated in projects related to drama and the arts, construction, technology, literacy… and the list goes on. Come share your talent with our young people, and have fun giving back!
