FAQs By Parents | FAQs By Educators | Application Process | Timeline

APPLICATION PROCESS
The Choice Program only admits students at the beginning of the school year, however the application and placement process begins much earlier.

New families are strongly encouraged to attend one of our scheduled open houses.

To apply for the Choice Program call 860-524-4010 or click here to download the application in pdf form. Suburban students applying for Hartford schools please click here to download the application. Your child's name will then be placed in a lottery. The number given to your child in the lottery will determine their position on the list of students trying to enroll in the program.

As we receive information from the school districts on the number of openings they have for the upcoming year, we will place the children on the list into the openings.

You will be notified if your child is placed in an opening and you will make the decision about whether or not to accept the placement.

The Capitol Region Choice Program may be an opportunity for change that will be of benefit to your child; however, a change of school will require that your child adjust to new surroundings and new classmates. Bus travel of up to one hour may be necessary. You know your child better than anyone else. It is important to think through both the advantages and disadvantages for your child and you.
