Pupil Partners: Breaking Down Barriers
Grades: K-12
Participating Districts: CREC member districts
This program complements the long-established Sister Schools program. Pupil Partners brings together students from urban and suburban communities to establish ongoing, interdistrict relationships among children from different backgrounds. The long-term goal is frequent and meaningful academic and social interactions among students and staff that create a sense of “one school in two locations” among all participants. Through Pupil Partners, students raise their awareness of diversity; increase their ability to interact with and relate to students of different racial, social and economic backgrounds; and demonstrate growth in targeted academic skills.
