Eligibility

Hartford Families interested in attending a suburban public school and suburban families interested in attending a Hartford public school may apply. Eligible siblings are given priority consideration when seats are made available in the same district where their siblings attend.

Enrollment are offered by school districts on a space-available basis by grade, and a lottery is used to place students in available slots (families may not preselect the towns or schools). We anticipate Open Choice opportunities to expand in suburban towns in the upcoming school year.

A Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) has been created to assist and support parents in completing applications and making educational choices.
