Application
Four Open House sessions were held in January and February 2008. If you missed our Open House sessions you may download the application here. Please only ONE APPLICATION PER FAMILY. The deadline for new family applications is March 7, 2008. Because the majority of our new seats are in kindergarten and first grade, we will accept late applications for students who will be entering those grades in the fall. Late applications can only be considered when we've exhausted all of the applications on the waiting list.

Timeline
This information is being provided to give you an idea of the various steps within the application process and to minimize your anxiety. You may check back every couple of weeks to get an update on our current status.

Application Process Time Line:

  • Open House
  • Receive applications. Deadline is Friday, March 7th
  • Enter information from applications into database
  • Mail the Available Seats Report to superintendents ~ March
  • Lottery: Button allows computer to randomly assign numbers to each family ~ April
  • Invite families to a pre-registration session ~ May
  • Superintendents return Available Seats Report ~ April - June
  • Develop a “table” of available seats given by each district
  • Place siblings ~ June
  • Place new students ~ June – August placements until all seats are filled
  • Confirmation letters ~ July-August

Current Status
April

  • On April 21st letters were mailed to ALL kindergarten families inviting them to a pre-registration session. If your child will be entering kindergarten in the fall and you did not received a letter, please call our office at 524-4010.
  • Kindergarten siblings will be placed first, in lottery order, if a seat has been provided in the district of their current Choice sibling. After the last pre-registration session on May 30th the remaining seats will be offered to new families with completed pre-registration folders in lottery order.
  • Pre-registration sessions for grades 1, 3, & 4 will be scheduled in June. Letters will be mailed to ALL 1st grade families and the first few families in grades 3 & 4 in mid May. To date we have not received seats in any other grades.
  • We will schedule a special pre-registration session in June for families in the remaining grades, so we will have students prepared for placement should we receive additional seats.
  • The lottery was held on Mon., April 7th for sibling and new family applicants. This means that the computer was programmed to randomly assign a number to each family whose application was received by the March 7th deadline.
