A Night of Fun |

Fifty Choice
students in middle and high school enjoyed an evening of skating at
Ron-A-Roll in Vernon on
Wednesday, November 28. This event gave students an
opportunity to meet Choice students from other school districts and
make new friends. Many
Choice students have no idea that there are close to 1,100
students who share the same experiences in the program.
Because of the overwhelming response Choice will be planning another
event in the Spring.

The Choice Program will be planning an appreciation
breakfast for our drivers and monitors in 2008. You may email
rsatchell@crec.org or call us at 524-4017 if there is a driver(s) or
monitor(s) you feel deserves special recognition. Please give
us their name(s) and let us know why you believe they deserve this
award. | |

2008 Application Process
Begins |
The sibling application process for
the 2008 - 2009 school year begins on January 2, 2008. A sibling is defined as a
sister or brother of a student already in the Choice Program who
lives in the same household. Sibling applications are due on Friday,
February 8. These students' names will appear on the list of sibling
applicants that we send to the superintendents when we request new
seats. If your application is postmarked or submitted after February
8, it will be included in the lottery for new families and your
child's name will not appear on the list of sibling applicants.
Please complete and submit the application in
this newsletter. You can also download a copy from our
website www.crec.org/choice under "How to Apply." Click on
"Current Choice Families."

This
year Choice has been able to send out monthly newsletters with the
help of CREC's Office of Communications via the internet to
administrators, staff, parents, and students who have given us their
e-mail addresses. Due to the cost of postage and the large number of
return mail, the newsletter is only mailed to families 2-3 times a
year.
If
you would like to receive monthly newsletters to stay better
informed of Choice, school and community events, please contact
Renita at 524-4017 or rsatchell@crec.org to give us your name and
e-mail address.
If you are
already receiving this on-line, pass it on to those Choice families
you know may not be receiving
