SurveyMonkey

CREC Communications maintains a Gold-level subscription account to the survey building tool SurveyMonkey. CREC programs have used SurveyMonkey to gather information from a range of constituents, including internal staff, potential clients, students, workshop participants, and CREC Schools' faculty. Divisions also provide survey services as part of external contract.

SurveyMonkey's online site simplifies the survey process. In the survey design phase, SurveyMonkey offers 15 formats for asking questions (multiple choice, true/false, open-ended, etc.). SurveyMonkey also has a diverse color palette for changing the appearance of the survey. SurveyMonkey has the ability to track respondents so that users can contact non-respondents and avoid pestering those who have already participated. SurveyMonkey can also generate frequencies for each question and allows you to export data into programs like SAS or SPSS for more complex analysis. The user has the options of emailing a link to the survey, posting it on a website, or printing the survey out in hard-copy. The results of a user's survey are collected and can be viewed in many different graphing formats.
