Through the RESC Minority Teacher Recruitment Program in collaboration with the RESC Alliance, MTR offers mentoring and financial assistance to youth and adults who are aspiring to become teachers.
Teacher Education and Mentoring program (TEAM)
Mentors support new teachers through five modules over a 2-year period. The modules focus on classroom environment, planning, instruction, assessment for learning, and professional responsibility. Each module is aligned with a domain of the updated Common Core.
Effective Instructional Strategies
Specialists provide on-site professional development programs, facilitate professional learning communities, analyze data, select appropriate strategies, and provide coaching support in classroom/planning sessions with teachers in order to support high-quality education.
Curriculum Unit Revision Infusing Technology

Connecticut Core Standards Workshops
Professional development workshops and coaching to assist districts with transitioning to the Connecticut Core Standards as the foundation for curriculum, assessment, rubrics, and instruction.
Educator Effectiveness and Professional Learning
A model evaluation system aligned to the CT Guidelines for Educator Evaluation (core requirements), adopted by the Performance Evaluation Advisory Council, to inform implementation of teacher/administrator evaluation and support systems.
An energy efficiency and clean energy educational program designed to facilitate students' understanding of the science, math, and technology related to energy efficiency, clean energy sources, and electricity.
Extended School Year Summer Assistive Technology Service (ESY AST)
Summer Assistive Technology Service includes audiological support and use of the student's FM system during the summer months.
Post-Secondary Auditory Technology Service (PATS)
Providing post-secondary students who have hearing loss with appropriate auditory access to the curriculum through educational and audiological/technical support.
Consulting Teacher Service
The Consulting Teacher Service provides specialized educational support to school districts for students with hearing loss who are using spoken language to communicate and to learn. Support is tailored to the student and can consist of direct service and/or consultation.
