| The goal of this division of CREC is to assist school districts in their efforts to reduce racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic isolation of Greater Hartford students by initiating, developing and managing innovative, high quality, interdistrict educational programs. Working with CREC's resources, local school districts can participate in existing interdistrict programs and can work as partners with CREC in development of new initiatives. Although each of these interdistrict schools and programs offers a different experience, they have a common characteristic in that they all have a strong academic component that enhances the acquisition and the development of basic skills as measured by the Connecticut State Mastery Tests.
