Several internal partners support students in their learning. An academic advisor maintains a liaison and cooperative relationship with participating school districts. The Parents and Friends Association enhances students’ learning through its school-based involvement. In addition, a variety of arts institutions continue to cooperate with the Academy in enhancing the academic arts program.

The Connecticut Opera, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Horace Bushnell Hall provide numerous opportunities for students to attend concerts and programs that make a significant contribution to their artistic training.

The Academy has established a relationship with numerous businesses and foundations that continually contribute support for our activities. These include, but are not limited to, the Hartford Courant, Fox 61-WTIC TV, Northeast Magazine, Pratt & Whitney, the Greater Hartford Arts Council, Mayor Mike’s Companies for Kids, Hartford Public Schools and many funding agencies, such as the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Ensworth Foundation and the Fischer Foundation.

The Academy also partners with each of the students’ home schools to insure that students understand that their choice is not art OR academics, but rather arts AND academics. The role of the academic advisor is to insure that communication among all parties involved in the students’ education (student, parents, home school personnel and Academy staff) is maintained.

The Learning Corridor partnerships provide additional opportunities to employ the medical, counseling and social services of the SINA partners for students who need personal support in areas exceeding the capabilities of the Academy and the home school staff.

Funding
Funding comes from the State Department of Education's Inter-district Grant Program, local Boards of Education, parents, foundations and individuals.
