WHO:
Middle School students, grades 5, 6, 7, 8 (ages 11-14) with a desire to develop their skills in Theater, Visual Arts, Dance & Piano
FACULTY:
Professional Artists from the
Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.
COST:
Tuition for each session is $75.00
Interested students are encouraged to complete the attached application form. Please return the form to the Academy with payment no later than March 7th. Make checks payable to CREC/Academy. Sign up is on a first come, first served basis, and space is limited.*
*In the event there is not enough interest, classes will be cancelled, and money will be refunded
CLASSES:
THEATER: Introduce the basic elements of Theater; explore character through exercises and improvisation, while having fun!
DANCE CLASS: Introduce students to Tap Dance as well as a variety of other styles of Dance.
VISUAL ARTS: Students will be introduced to an enriching environment for which they are invited to create art with a variety of materials.
Students will be introduced to the importance of creating and maintaining an artists’ sketchbook.
All students will create a portfolio in which to carefully store and maintain their artwork.
PIANOKIDS:
For beginning to advanced students interested in learning to play the piano. If you own a keyboard or piano- that's great- but not required. Students will study the basics of music (melody, rhythm, and harmony) by learning to read music, and
playing by ear.
