Become an Academy Donor
Make a difference in the lives of young aspiring artists.
Charitable donations are essential to the Academy’s production program. Without generous and sustained support, the Academy would be unable to provide many of the enriching opportunities that make our educational program exceptional. A residency by Pilobolus, sending a production to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, having the Jazz Choir compete at the Monterey Jazz Festival, or producing an opera, play, or musical would not be possible without the generous support of our extended Academy family and alumni.

Contribute to the Academy Endowment
The Academy’s core expenses are funded by public tax dollars. Enhancements are funded by contributions from individuals and foundations – items such as visiting artists, scholarships, travel to festivals and workshops, or capital items such as instruments or staging equipment. Truly, the Academy is an educational public/private partnership in its most creative form.
However, charitable support is subject to limitations and economic upheavals. Income from an endowment will help sustain these important program enhancements at the Academy, providing some stability in the increasingly unpredictable environment of public funding. We will always need current contributions, but a growing endowment will provide annual income to ensure our program will thrive and remain accessible through budgetary peaks and valleys, for generations to come.
The Academy Endowment is managed by the Hartford Foundation for Public Given. We can accept gifts of a wide variety of assets – from stocks and bonds, to mutual funds, interest in private corporations, or even real estate. The Hartford Foundation can also discuss life income options with you or a designated beneficiary. The professional planned giving staff of Hartford Foundation will counsel you and your advisors to help you choose the most effective way to give. For a confidential discussion of your giving options, please call the Academy Development Office at (860) 757-6321 or the Philanthropic Services Department at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving at (860) 548-1888. Additional information is also available at the Foundation’s web site: www.hfpg.org. |
