The unsettled and challenging economical environment we are experiencing has compelled the CCY CulturArte team to make the responsible decision to cancel the program for summer 2010. We will not be taking applications for the 2010 summer session. We are hopeful and working hard to reinstate CCY CulturArte for summer 2011.

The Center for Creative Youth at Cape Verde, CulturArte is a pre-college summer arts exchange program of the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in collaboration with the government of Cape Verde, Africa.  Modeled after the highly acclaimed CCY at Wesleyan University, this two-week program engages American and Cape Verdean students in a fast-paced arts curriculum which emphasizes leadership skills, historical context, interdisciplinary collaboration, multicultural learning and outreach opportunities.
