Summer 2008 at GHAMAS

The Greater Hartford Academy of Mathematics & Science is offering a three week summer program for students entering grades 6, 7, or 8. Students enrolled in this program will learn about careers in science, technology, and engineering by:

1. Doing hands on design challenges in the classroom.
2. Going on field trips to visit research and training laboratories.
3. Interacting with professionals in science, engineering, and technology.

Now Accepting Applications to the Academy

GHAMAS is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2008-2009. To be entered into the lottery, applications must be received by February 15, 2008. Applications can be downloaded from the How to Apply page or see the guidance department at your middle or high school. You may also contact:

Information Sessions at GHAMAS

Any student who is applying to the Academy is required to attend an information session. All sessions are held at the school - 15 Vernon Street, Hartford, CT 06106. All sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. with a brief talk by the Director discussing student expectations, school philosophy and the curriculum. A brief period of Q&A is allowed followed by tours hosted by Academy students. The 2008 dates are:

Lottery for 2007-2008 

Our lottery will be held on March 7, 2008. We will notify applicants of their status by mail within 10 business days of the lottery. Results will not be given out over the phone.
