Mission
The Metropolitan Learning Center (MLC) is a public interdistrict magnet school with a
global and international studies theme. The theme is integrated throughout the
curriculum and features an intensive study of world languages and an extensive use of
technology. In addition to languages, integrated topics include world geography; government, politics and current events; global economics and environment; and world
cultures and societies.
At both the middle school and high school levels, students are exposed to a culture of rigorous academic and behavioral standards; a business-like atmosphere; and an exciting
daily schedule with an integrated curriculum and essential classes. MLC emphasizes the
development of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, and focuses on learning from the
perspective of the students. Strong parental involvement in the school and throughout
each student's education is highly encouraged.
