High Academics
The CREC-Public Safety Academy will offer a challenging curriculum that meets Connecticut’s high school graduation requirements.

College Credits
Students will have the opportunity to take college level courses, earn college credits, and continue their education at the community college level after graduation.

Experience
Students will work in the field with public safety or emergency medical professionals. All students will be cross-trained in the field of public safety. Students will receive a solid academic foundation to help them prepare for high school and college coursework.

Career
The CREC-Public Safety Academy will provide training and experience for students in grades 6 through12 who are interested in a public safety or emergency medical career. However, if a student decides to pursue a career outside of the public safety field they will have learned skills that will help them succeed in any profession.

Cost
There is no cost to students to attend the school.

Location
227 Brainard Road, Enfield. This is a temporary site until a new building is constructed.

Dress Code
All students will be required to wear an assigned uniform.

Eligibility
Currently accepting students entering Grades 6, 7, and 9 for the 2008 - 2009 school year. The Academy will open with 50 students per grade. or call the CREC Magnet Schools office to obtain an application or for more information.
