High Academics
The CREC-Public Safety Academy will offer a challenging curriculum that exceeds Connecticut’s minimum high school graduation requirements.

College Credits
Students will have the opportunity to take college level courses, earn college credits, and continue their education at the community college or university level after graduation.

Experience
Students will work in the field with public safety or emergency medical professionals. All students will be cross-trained in the field of public safety. Students will receive a solid academic foundation to help them prepare for high school and college coursework.

Career
The CREC-Public Safety Academy will provide training and experience for students in grades 6 through 12 who are interested in a public safety or emergency medical career. However, if a student decides to pursue a career outside of the public safety field they will have learned skills that will help them succeed in any profession.

Cost
There is no cost to students to attend the school.

Location
227 Brainard Road, Enfield. This is a temporary site until a new building is constructed.

Dress Code
All students will be required to wear an assigned uniform.

Eligibility
The CREC-Public Safety Academy will enroll students in grades 6 through 12 from throughout the Greater Hartford region. For the 2009-2010 school year, students will be enrolled in grades 6 through 10. For the 2010-2011 school year, students will be enrolled in grades 6 through 11.
