The CREC-Public Safety Academy is a value-driven school community with high academic expectations, where cultural diversity is celebrated; parent participation is a key to student success; character education and the development of leadership skills are emphasized; and every student develops an understanding of and a commitment to serving the community in a public safety career.
“We chose this model for the academy because we think it will give students in and around the state a great chance for success.” - Lieutenant Jim Salzano, Connecticut State Police
“All police departments would be eager to employ students who, at an early age, had attended a public safety academy that had instilled ethics and character, and prepared them for leadership."
- Deputy Chief John Murphy, East Hartford Police
