General Info

Transportation
Transportation to Connecticut public interdistrict magnet schools is provided to all students K-5 at no cost to parents. Students from school districts outside of the magnet school's home community are transported at 100% State Department of Education funding. Students who reside in the district in which the magnet school is located (in this case, Hartford) are transported by that district. Bus stops are established with the convenience of parents and students in mind, and bus routes are designed with the goal of keeping each student's commuting time to a minimum. Transportation for parents to school functions (concerts, plays, parent-teacher conferences, etc.) can be arranged for those who need it.

Inclement Weather
The University of Hartford Magnet School will follow the Hartford Public School decision regarding school closings due to inclement weather. All students from other towns will follow their town's decision regarding school closings for bus transportation.

The Extended Day Program will be in session 1 1/2 hours before the start of the delay on the morning of a delayed opening, on an early dismissal students need to be picked up as soon as possible. Please make the necessary arrangements for your child to return home safely.
