CREC International Magnet School to Celebrate Chinese New Year

Summary:

The CREC International Magnet School for Global Citizenship will hold its first-ever Chinese New Year celebration on February 19.

The event is for students and their families. Members of the media are also welcome to attend.

During the event, which features a potluck dinner, students will sing Chinese songs, sample Chinese food, learn from a professional martial artist, and participate in hands-on activities, such as lantern making. There will also be Bejing opera face painting, a tangram game, and children can take their pictures with someone dressed in a panda costume.

CREC’s International Magnet School for Global Citizenship is an elementary school that offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The school teaches the Chinese language to students in grades three, four, and five, but the February 19 event will expose all students at the school to the Chinese language and culture.
