CREC School to Hold Lift-OFF! So You Want to Be An Astronaut
Summary:
On March 12, CREC’s Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School will hold “Lift-OFF! So you want to be an Astronaut?”
This is a themed event for students and families, and it will feature hands-on activities that allow participants to plan, design, launch, and record data about rocket performance. Each grade level will work on mission patches, science journals, and rocket construction. Preschool students will make 3-2-1 puff rockets; kindergarten students will build balloon rockets; and first-grade students will make pop rockets.
Prior to Thursday’s event, students from CREC’s Academy of Aerospace and Engineering High School visited the elementary school to demonstrate Estes solid fuel rockets, rockets that use more advanced technology.
