CREC Soundbridge Offers Expertise to Kuwait Center
(Wethersfield, CT) Representatives from the Sada Educational Center in Kuwait recently visited CREC Soundbridge to observe classrooms and learn from CREC staff.
CREC Soundbridge has an ongoing relationship with the center, the only one of its kind in Kuwait. The center helps students from birth to age 8 listen and talk with the aid of cochlear implants, and it is planning to build a special purpose school in Kuwait City. Sada Educational Center staff members are looking to CREC for guidance and support because of its expertise in both audiology and building construction.
During their visit to Connecticut, Sada Educational Center staff observed preschool classrooms, the Birth to Three program, and audiology sessions. They also toured CREC River Street School and visited the CREC Soundbridge program located at the CREC Museum Academy, where students were engaged in a project about hearing and the ear.
Students at CREC’s Museum Academy chatted with educators from Kuwait to learn more about their country. Some students found they had a lot in common with their visitors.
Representatives from the Sada Educational Center will return to Connecticut in July.
