CREC Foundation to Hold Golf Tournament to Celebrate 10 Years

Summary:

The CREC Foundation is celebrating its 10-year anniversary and will mark the occasion with a golf tournament.

The first-ever CREC Foundation 10th Anniversary Golf Invitational will be held October 5 at the Hartford Golf Club, and the tournament’s 100 golfers will represent CREC’s many corporate and community partners. Following the tournament, there will be a reception and raffle, which will be emceed by NBC Connecticut’s Brad Drazen. At that time, Cris Rivera, a CREC student-athlete from Windsor, and Natalia Girardo, a student and an English language learner from Hartford, will share how the CREC Foundation has impacted their lives.

The co-chairmen of the CREC Foundation 10th Anniversary Golf Invitational are JCJ Architecture President Peter Stevens and Freeman Companies President and Chief Executive Officer Rohan Freeman. CREC thanks them for their time, support, and dedication.

Established in 2005, the CREC Foundation raises private funds to support CREC’s educational programs and services. Money raised by the foundation supports art; music; science; math; and afterschool and summer enrichment classes. The CREC Foundation also helps to fund middle and high school college-preparatory classes; professional cultural development for teachers; classroom grants; instructional and counseling support; and middle and high school sports.

All media are welcome to attend the golf tournament and the dinner that follows. Please contact Amanda Falcone at 860-509-3663 for more details.
