CREC Two Rivers Magnet High School Prepares for Regional Robotics Competition
(Hartford, CT) It started with an idea, some material, and many tools.
At the beginning of this school year, CREC Two Rivers Magnet High School’s VEX robotics team set out to build a robot. They measured and cut aluminum and steel; wired the motors together to the main controller; and built gear-driven lifts, risers, and claws.
It was hard work, but the team was able to proudly showcase their robot at the Southern New England Qualifier for Skyrise, a robotics competition held in South Windsor on November 15, 2014.
During the competition, the team did not experience any problems with their robot, and they placed second overall out of more than 50 teams, earning a spot in the Southern New England Skyrise Championship. The regional competition will be held in March 2015 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The team from CREC Two Rivers Magnet High School is comprised of 21dedicated students who meet regularly after school, and they will continue to work to improve their robot before the regional competition.
