| The Integrated Program Models is a regional program for students with disabilities aged 3 to 21. Primary and intermediate classrooms are located in Middletown, Rockville/Vernon, Plainville and in New Britain. The Integrated Program Models (IPM) operates under the direction of River Street School. The division is concerned with education from preschool through adult education, and professional development.
The goals of IPM are . . .
- to provide quality special education programs for students in public school settings where students can interact with their typical peers and access their community.
- to provide collaborative consultation and/or technical assistance to new or existing special education programs in local school districts.
- to provide occupational and physical therapy services to children in all educational settings.
Through these programs, IPM offers individualized education programs to students with a broad range of disabilities. IPM also provides Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language services to 46 school districts in central Connecticut for children fro preschool through high school. These services include:
- Consultation services
- Direct therapy
- Vocational assessments
- Speech-Language evaluations
- Augmentative Alternative Communication services
- Specifications for wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment
- Inservice training for classroom staff
