You can make an immediate and lasting difference in the life of a child by giving a child who is deaf or hard of hearing access to the technological tools essential for learning to listen, understand, and talk.

Every single day, children with hearing loss are developing excellent speech and language because of recent advances in audiological technology and science. CREC Soundbridge utilizes cutting edge audiological technology to provide children with hearing impairment access to a life in the hearing and speaking world thereby enhancing opportunities for a full education, employment choice, social integration and contributions to the community.

Our goal is to ensure that no child we serve in Connecticut is ever deprived of sound because they lack access to audiological assistive technology.  Current technological tools can cost thousands of dollars and are customized to meet each child’s needs.  It is cost prohibitive for parents and school districts to stock complete backup equipment for each child with hearing loss in their district.   And yet, for children with hearing impairment, time without access to sound can significantly impact their acquisition of spoken language and educational achievement.

This is why we need your help.  We are seeking your financial assistance to help support the audiological technology lending library (the TALK* Emergency Resource).  The Soundbridge TALK Emergency Resource will ensure that back-up equipment(hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems) are available for children with hearing loss, so their ears will be “turned on” all waking hours, providing continuous access to sound and giving them the best chance to learn and achieve.
