About Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program 2017
The Summer Youth Employment & Learning Program (SYELP) has been cancelled this summer for students residing in the Hartford region, including the communities of East Hartford, Enfield and Manchester.
Funding for this program is provided through the CT Department of Labor. The state budget was not passed by June 30, 2017 and the funds needed to implement programming and pay students were not allocated.
We are hopeful that SYELP will operate next summer. Please check with Capital Workforce Partners in the spring for information about SYELP 2018.
We wish the best of luck to all of our 2017 applicants and hope to work with you in the future.
The CREC Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program (SYELP), provided in partnership with Capital Workforce Partners, will seek to serve eligible students in the East Hartford, Enfield, and Manchester regions. The SYELP is a work and learn program designed to provide participants with career development skills through experience in subsidized work placement. This program operates for five weeks in July and August.
