Ellen Cohn is a Senior Education Specialist with the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) and specializes in Scientific Research-Based Interventions (SRBI). Since the fall of 2007, Ellen has supported over 50 organizations in professional development and technical assistance in the development of SRBI curriculum, instruction, and intervention at all levels. Ellen has also worked with the CT State Department of Education (CSDE) to assist in the development of SRBI Training Modules for the CT Accountability for Learning Initiative (CALI).
An administrator since 2000, Ellen is the former Associate Principal of Two Rivers Magnet Middle School, a state of CT SRBI Model School Site. She was instrumental in the development of the Two Rivers Math Intervention Team program. Previously, she has served as an Assistant Principal at the elementary school level. She is the author of “Response to Intervention: A Planning and Implementation Guide for School Practitioners” published in 2008. She is a national, regional and local presenter on topics related to RTI. Her background is in special education/related services and she is a former pediatric nurse.
