Lisa Fiano joined CREC in 2006 and is a certified Special Education teacher with 24 years of teaching experience in Connecticut. She has a BA in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Vermont, a MA in Special Education from the University of Connecticut. She has also completed a 6th year and certification requirements as a Reading and Language Arts Consultant in Spring of 2007.
Lisa began her career as an Instructor at Oak Hill School for the Blind. She has also worked at Newington Children’s Hospital and Rockville High School. Her career has spanned the continuum of the inclusion movement working with students in the most restrictive to fully inclusive educational settings. She specializes in assisting teachers to develop programming in the least restrictive environment using co-teaching, instructional coaching, differentiation of instruction, SRBI, literacy strategies, reading remediation, and curriculum adaptation/modification.
