Common Assessment Consortium

The benefits of bringing CREC regional educators together to research and develop assessments are many and varied. This is an opportunity to enrich our extended Professional Learning Community, distributing a labor-intensive process across a competent field of professionals. As this community grows we will develop and build capacity in the areas of common assessment content development, item selection, test implementation, data analysis, item analysis and alignment to standards, as well as alignment to high stakes assessment format (CMT/CAPT/SAT).

The practicable model includes regular, professionally facilitated meetings throughout the year, as well as participation in a June Common Assessment Writing Conference and Forum.

As a service to member districts, CREC will facilitate participation in common assessment professional development offered by certified trainers, on-going participation in PD relative to common assessment development, along with meeting facilitation, facilities planning, food service for participants, secretarial support with agendas, schedules, along with preliminary and follow up resources. CREC will also ensure that new assessments are accessible online.
