The Institute staff coaches teachers on specific instructional strategies that have proven most effective at raising student achievement. Topics include: summarizing and paraphrasing, note-taking, cooperative learning, graphic organizers, and generating and testing hypotheses. Support is also available on differentiated instruction and developing effective lesson plans.  Specialists provide on site professional development programs, facilitate professional learning communities to analyze data and select appropriate strategies, and provide coaching support in the classroom or in planning sessions with teachers in order to support high quality instruction.
