Peggy
Neal has been a public school educator
for the state of Connecticut for 28 years.
In addition to classroom experience,
Peggy has over 5 years teaching at Quinnipiac
University, in Hamden, CT., teaching
in the Masters of Art in Education program.
She has been recognized by The New England
League of Middle School through the publication
of her monograph entitled, Problem
Solving: A Heterogeneous Approach For
Integrating
Middle School Math Activities. She has
published articles in The Connecticut
Mathematics Journal and The
NELMS Journal.
Peggy has received the Celebration of
Excellence award from the State of Connecticut
for creative teaching ideas.
Peggy has presented professional development
workshops for local and state Boards
of Education on a variety of teaching
topics, such as Differentiated Instruction,
Performance-Based Instruction, Math
Motivators, and Linking Math Assessment
and Instruction.
At the national level, she has presented
a workshop entitled, “A Journey
Into Geometry,” whose classroom
implementation dramatically improved
local CMT scores. Peggy Neal is well-known
for her innovative middle school practices
and has been noted by her colleagues
as a “teacher of teachers.”
