About the CREC Foundation
The CREC Foundation is a Connecticut nonprofit, public benefit corporation established in 2005 as CREC’s fundraising partner. We support CREC’s ultimate goal of pursuing equity, excellence, and success for all through high-quality educational services. In partnership with CREC, we generate resources, build relationships and champion public education to impact system-wide achievement and help every child succeed. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Our Mission
The CREC Foundation will further CREC’s mission by guaranteeing sustainable resources and supporting its member districts.
Current initiatives
- Providing financial support for CREC educational programs and services.
- Developing strategic partnerships with other community organizations that help promote and advance CREC's educational initiatives.
- Supporting teachers and educational leaders by helping fund programs that build and strengthen skills and abilities.
- Seeking funds for innovative and highly progressive educational programming that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Acquiring school and classroom resources for teachers and students.
- Obtaining scholarship funds for disadvantaged students.
- Assisting families by securing support for programs that improve adult literacy, workforce preparedness and job training.

- Help Every Child Succeed: We direct community support to programs that are proven to have significant and measurable impact on the lives of our students. Our programs help children succeed in the classroom, discover their talents outside the classroom, and stay on track to graduate prepared for college or careers.
- Innovate: When it comes to education, great new ideas deserve to be tested, proven and scaled. We support innovation at CREC and provide the funding to identify, incubate, evaluate and replicate the highest-performing and most exciting new strategies to help children achieve.
