CURIT

About CURIT

DART employs the Curriculum Unit Revision Infusing Technology (CURIT) model. CURIT is designed to provide a methodology, process, and structure for revising and implementing existing curricula, to seamlessly infuse technology, incorporate differentiation, align to standards, and provide all resources necessary for fluid implementation. A substantial and integral component of the process concentrates on building the confidence and proficiency levels of all participants, while simultaneously producing classroom-ready units, lessons, and activities for immediate use.

This approach engages teachers, curriculum coaches, and specialists in four stages:

  • Stage 1: Introduction and Overview
  • Stage 2: Training and Coaching
  • Stage 3: Implementation, Documentation, and Observation
  • Stage 4: Reflection, Transition and Support

While the components and structure of CURIT are well established, the process can be adapted to support the development of new curricular practices that infuse technology and supports 21st Century teaching and learning strategies. Customization occurs with regard to, templates, software, hardware, technology tools used, and training according to applications and devices supported by the district.

Participants are provided with resources which are modified to match the vision and requirements of the district while ensuring that technology is carefully considered and effectively infused.
