Keeping up with Soundbridge Staff
Elaine Carroll, Soundbridge audiology supervisor, will present An Orientation to Hearing Loss: Listening, Learning and Living in a School Community at the 28th Clarke School’s Mainstreaming conference in Springfield, MA.
Jenn Coyne, Soundbridge’s B-3 Coordinator, attended a two-day training called A Functional, Family-Centered Process for IFSP Development and Service Delivery.
Ellen Gill, AVT-cert, attended a 4-day service coordination training and is re-certified as a B-3 Service coordinator.
A number of Soundbridge staff members are teaching courses or classes in the joint University of Hartford/Soundbridge graduate program in Aural Habilitation and Education of Children with Hearing Loss. Dr. Elizabeth Cole Ed.D., Director of Soundbridge, is teaching an Acoustic Phonetics course, and Dr. Jill Raney is teaching Clinical Audiology. Ellen Gill, Jenn Coyne, and Tina Berghoff have shared lecturing responsibilities for the Language Intervention course with Dr. Cole. In addition, all of the Teachers of the Hearing Impaired have had grad students in their classrooms for observations and practica.
