CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Presents REmerge
Summary:
“REmerge,” a dance performance that features the works of CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School students and faculty, will be held February 12 and February 13.
The performance is directed by Alexa Melonopoulos, a faculty member at the school. Faculty members Corrine Bates, Thomas Giroir, Christine Perry, and Judi Tolomea contribute works created in their classrooms.
The dance curriculum at the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts blends the study of composition, modern dance, and ballet.
Also during the performance, faculty member Sonia Plumb will share “Privacy Settings” from her company’s repertory, and faculty member Jeanne Giroir will present excerpts from “Raymonda” with original costumes by faculty member Gail Fresia. Guest artist Judy Dworin will present “Rains,” which illustrates the devastating aftermath of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear meltdown.
Tickets to the show are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. They can be purchased by calling the theater’s box office at 860-757-6388, or online at www.crec.org/theater. Additional fees may apply when purchasing tickets online.
