Glastonbury-East Hartford Magnet School HostsAnnual Scholastic Chess Tournament for Area K-12 Students April 28

(Hartford, Conn.) Student chess enthusiasts are invited to compete in the Annual Scholastic Chess Tournament on Saturday, April 28, at Glastonbury-East Hartford Magnet School (GEHMS), 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury. Spectators are also welcome. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is open to students of all skill levels in kindergarten through grade 12 who attend GEHMS, other Capitol Region Education Council magnet schools, Glastonbury Public Schools, and schools in surrounding towns. Students will compete for trophies and medals in this Swiss system format tournament where students play within their age groups and experience levels. Lunch will be provided for the players and available for purchase by spectators. The $25 entry fee is due by Friday, April 20. (Registration the day of the event is $50.)
