CREC Public Safety Academy to Hold Panel Discussion on Women in Public Safety

Summary:

The CREC Public Safety Academy will hold a panel discussion on May 27 to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of several dynamic women who serve in Connecticut’s public safety field. During the discussion, these women will share their formulas for success.

As a profession, public safety is dominated by males, and the panel discussion is the school’s way of showing students that public safety positions can be filled by both men and women. A few of the women on the panel are the first to hold their positions in their respected organizations.

Panelists will include: Stacy G. Bowery, Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation Nancy Brunet, Eastern Connecticut Health Network EMS and Trauma Coordinator Sarala Nagala, Assistant U.S. AttorneyLt. Col. Lesbia Nieves, Connecticut Army National GuardMajor Regina Rush-Kittle, Connecticut State PoliceDora Schriro, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public ProtectionDonna M. Wilkerson-Brillant, Attorney and Regional Manager, Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities

CREC Public Safety Academy students will moderate the panel discussion. Members of the media are invited to attend.
