Sonya provides consultation, technical assistance and professional development in the areas of SRBI, special education, and strategic instruction. Sonya is known for instructional coaching in differentiated instruction, co-teaching, and special education practices - especially at the secondary level. She also leads the Advanced Alternate Route to Certification for Special Education cross endorsement.
Sonya has been a special educator for more than 25 years. She has taught at many grade levels as well as provided supervisory services to teachers. Sonya has been awarded the CREC Enterprise Award and The CT Coalition for Inclusive Education, "Educator of the Year" award. She has authored inclusive training materials (manuals, audios and videos), as well as co-authored The Path to Positive Classroom Management.
