Sonya provides consultation, technical assistance and training to districts in the area of special education, with a special emphasis on inclusive practices and Least Restrictive Environment. Sonya is known for her training and facilitation in the areas of inclusion, co-teaching, modifications, collaboration and collaborative scheduling. She also is available to provide consultant services to districts.
Sonya has been a special educator for more than 20 years. She has taught at many grade levels as well provided supervisory services to teachers. Sonya has been awarded with the CREC Enterprise Award and The CT Collation for Inclusive Education, “Educator of the Year” award. She has authored inclusive training materials (manuals, audios and videos), as well as co-authored The Path to Positive Classroom Management. Sonya provides practical strategies to teachers and administrators seeking to create and extend their inclusive practices.
