Earn a Special Education Cross-Endorsement
The Advanced Alternate Route Program for Special Education (AARC) is an exciting and innovative course of study that provides training and practical experiences based on the NCATE and CEC standards for certified teachers to earn a cross endorsement in special education.
Qualifications for Admission
- A valid teaching certificate. A Master’s Degree is encouraged but not required.
- A minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience in the past 8 years (substitute teaching experience may be considered)
- The desire to teach students with disabilities as a special educator
- Access to a computer and a working email address

- An evidence-based portfolio
- Praxis II
- Clinical experiences
Program Fees
Tuition: Approximately $5,500.00
Application deadline: May 3, 2013
This program is approved by the State Board of Education, effective 9/30/2009 through 9/30/2014.
