Earn a Special Education Cross-Endorsement

The Advanced Alternate Route Program for Special Education (AARC) is an exciting and innovative course of study that provides training and practical experiences based on the NCATE and CEC standards for certified teachers to earn a cross endorsement in special education.

Qualifications for Admission

  1. A valid teaching certificate
  2. A minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience in the past 8 years (substitute teaching experience will be considered)
  3. The desire to teach students with disabilities as a special educator
  4. Access to a computer and a working email address

Special Education AARC Description

  • Program operates on rolling admission; next cohort will begin June 28, 2010
  • Field experiences, summer, evening and week-end classes

Program Fees

Tuition: Approximately $4,499.00
Textbooks and supplies: Approx. $500
Application deadline: May 21, 2010
