REACT

REACT is a diagnostic and consultative service which provides school systems and other agencies with assistance in diagnostic problems, additional personnel through brokering services, and consultation for general problem-solving. Selected as a Promising Practice in Special Education by the Connecticut State Department of Education, REACT has proved to be a successful approach to meeting the special education and related services needs of schools in an innovative, cost-effective manner.

The Regional Educational Student Assessment and Consultation Team offers:

Second level diagnostic and consultation services to handle the most difficult, complex or contested special education cases.
Example: Independent evaluations on cases in litigation when an impartial second opinion is warranted;

First level services designed to help administrators in need of staff equivalent personnel on a short-term or limited basis for screening, diagnostics and consultation. Related service and special education personnel are available on a per case or per diem basis.
Example: Triennial evaluations of special education students;

Post-PPT consultations when the services of a highly trained specialist are needed to help design an individual program for a student through technical assistance in curriculum modification, behavioral planning, co-teaching strategies, etc.

What is the cost for REACT's Services?
There is no cost for initial planning and consultation with REACT staff. Contacting us does not commit you to working through REACT services, but could help you decide how to solve your related service and special education problems. Fees for services are competitive and are based upon the specific services you require.
